We never cook a whole turkey. We always buy the Jennie-O Frozen Turkey Breast. You cook it, straight from the freezer, in the bag it comes in. It doesn't stick, is moist, and browns beautifully with nice crackly skin. Of course, if any of us would eat red meat then we would do a small bird and would flour the bag before placing the bird in the bag. We've done that and have never had the bag to stick.

Happy Thanksgiving!

(Oh! BTW, if you have never put chopped pecans into your dressing mix then you have missed a real treat. So good!

If you like spices, look on the spice aisle for Turkey Rub. Thaw and wash off your turkey and rub the seasoning mix on, completely cover w/ tin foil, and bake. I like to bake mine upside down so that all of the juices flow down into the breast pieces. When the turkey is almost done, flip it over and brown the top. I also baste my turkey periodically to help make sure it will be moist. Make sure to reseal the tin foil after each basting to help keep the moisture in.

BTW, I would much rather have an ugly but delicious turkey than a beautiful dried up chewy one.

What ever happened to putting your turkey in a raosting pan and covering it with foil?? I don't use anything fancy and my turkey always comes out moist and yummy!

Deep fried turkey. You can't beat that. The only way to go.

I agree with the electric roaster.. My feller bought me a nesco 18 qt roaster. I brown my turkey in my oven in the roaster pan and then after it has browned I put into the insert. I done a 22 lb turkey last Thanksgiving and it was so moist.

I've tried that and it doesn't work. It still manages to stick some where.

All you have to do is put a little flour in the bag and shake it @ before you put the turkey in it and it wont stick..

Walmart has the roasters in the small appliances part of the store.

wash your thawed turkey , place in pan lined with aluminum foil, rub butter all over that bird and sprinkle salt on that. thennnn, cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375 for as long as the turkey is big. the directions should be on the package. when you want to brown the outside, remove the top layer of aluminum foil and let it brown.

I've decided I'm not cooking the Thanksgiving turkey in one of those bags. Every year the bag ends up sticking to the skin and making a mess.

Any tips on how to cook one without the bag?
