I amde this for our Easter family get-together. They all RAVED!!!

Brownie Cobbler

Ingredients:
1 box (21 1/2-ounce size) brownie mix
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1 package (9-ounce size) yellow cake mix -- dry
1/4 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1 can (21-ounce size) cherry filling and topping

Directions:

Prepare brownie mix according to package directions using water, vegetable oil and egg. Spread dough evenly in a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.

Bake in a
preheated 350 degree F oven 15 minutes, or until brownies are halfway done.

Meanwhile, cut butter into dry cake mix until mixture is crumbly. Remove half-baked brownies from oven; spoon cherry filling as evenly as possible over brownie layer. Sprinkle cake mixture over cherry layer.

Continue baking in a 350F degree oven about 50 minutes, or until top is golden brown and brownies and filling are set. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

A very good, very simple chocolate cake.

Prepare a boxed devils food chocolate cake (I love the Duncan Hines one). Cook it in a cookie sheet so it will be thinner. Once its very cool, frost it with cool whip, and then cover it in chocolate shavings. I use a vegetable peeler and a big hershey bar. Then cover it and regrigerate it. Serve it very cold.

I know this sounds too easy and too simple to be good. But it really tastes very different and very refreshing than run of the mill chocolate cake! And you can't beat it for simplicity.

Hershey bar Cake
(If you think this recipe isn't old, it calls for 5 cent candy
bars! This cake is like a great big brownie.)
8 plain (5cent) Hershey bars
2 sticks butter
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups chopped nuts (optional)
2 1/2 cups sifted plain flour
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chocolate syrup
Soften candy is double boiler, let cool. Cream butter, add
sugar, add eggs.
Put candy in. Add soda to buttermilk. Combine
nuts, salt and flour. Add alternately with buttermilk. Stir in
vanilla and chocolate syrup. Line bottom of pan with greased
and floured brown paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for one hour and
15 minutes. When cool, drizzle more chocolate on top or ice
with your favorite chocolate icing. Unbelievably rich and more
like a giant brownie than a cake

I really like just a plain old chocolate cake from the box with chocolate frosting. It is so yummy with a glass of milk! :)

My favorite with chocolate is simple. I heat up some heavy cream and pour it over white chocolate to melt it (you can use dark or milk if you wish) and pour it over frozen strawberries. My kids absolutely love it but they have found if the strawberries are thawed some what they enjoy it better.

Does anyone know of any wonderful recipes that involve chocolate? My mom loves chocolate and her birthday is coming up (March 26). I would love to surprise her with one of her most favorite things in the world!
