This will probably be a thick, dense type of cake - instead of a light and airy type. Sounds good though. Let us know how it turns out. Thanks

Ok...here is mine.
Cherry Pound Cake

1 c. shortening
1/2 c. margarine
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 ( 10 oz) jar Maraschino cherries, drained and chopped.
3/4 c. milk
3 3/4 c. plain flour ...sifted

Cream shortening, margarine, and sugar; add eggs, one at a time. Mix well. Add extracts and cherries. Add milk and flour alternately. Place in cold oven and bake at300 for 1 an3/4 hours. Cool in pan 15 min.

Is it odd that you do not use any soda or powder to this recipe?

Is it unusual for a cake recipe that calls for all purpose flour , to not call for baking soda or baking powder?
I have come across 2 recipes for a Cherry Pound Cake..and both calls for plain flour...but no soda or powder.
