BBQ Sweet Sauce

I asked my wife if she was familiar with the catsup and grape jelly receipe. She said she had had the sauce made with bbq sauce and grape jelly and gave me the receipe to pass on. I would imagine you could use katsup or Heinz Chili Sauce instead of bbq sauce, but the bbq sauce sounds really good. My wife said it is usually mixed and put in a crock pot. When hot, smoky miniature coctail franks are added to the mixture and served hot.

Anyway, here's the receipe.

Mrs. Whitehawk's BBQ Sweet Sauce

3 c. catsup or Heinz Chili Sauce
2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. liquid smoke
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 c. grape jelly

Put in saucepan and simmer or in crock pot until hot. Stir well with wisk. Good on ribs, chicken, etc. Makes quite a lot - keeps in refrigerator.

(note from Whitehawk: I wonder if traditional Ragu sauce and an equal part of grape jelly wouldn't also work for the meatballs?)
