How long should I wait before taking the cake out of the pan?

I like Bakers Secret but I don't always have that around...so I use regular spray or crisco and coat heavy. Then take flour and coat thick and then shake off the excess. (Side note: I only do this when I am going to ice or glaze the cake, it might leave residue if you are just making a plain pound cake with no icing). I do let it sit for a min once out of the oven but I don't let it cool completely in the pan. Also...I know its a pain but be sure to mix one ingredient at a time and mix good..each time..trust me the batter will not be thick enough and run the risk of it falling or it could cause spots to stick that are not mixed properly...I never cut corners with my cakes because...it just not worth it. Good Luck..hope it turns out wonderful..

I agree with slade02 - My cakes used to stick all the time. Started using "Bakers Secret" - they never stick. I wait 5 minutes after I take them out of the oven to remove from the pan. Slides out - no sticking!

line your pan with paper before you pour in the batter...bake...then let cool...then peel off paper.
I know you know that...it just looked funny when I read it back...
Good Luck!

I need to fix a pound cake and was hoping you great bakers could give me a little advice. It never seems to fail that some part of my cake sticks to the pan. What can I do to avoid this from happening?
