Baked onions and squash

I've been enjoying grilled/baked Vidalias (and other sweet onions) and squash or zucchini all summer long with this simple recipe. Y'all gotta try it, especially if you are grilling steak or chicken breasts.

2 vidalias, cut in 8ths and then cut across. 1 or two tender squash, sliced long wise and halved. I cut mine 1/4" thick. Place on double thickness of aluminum foil. place 1/4 stick or less, to your taste, butter or margarine (I use butter), sprinkle liberally with garlic salt, and add 1/3 cup Kraft Asian sesame seed dressing, thin it down if you want, over the onion/squash. Seal the onion/squash in the foil and place on the grill at about 375 degrees, same as your wrapped corn on the cob or your 1/8th wedges of wrapped green cabbages, and place steak or chicken on grill. I put my squash, cabbage, and corn on a quiet area of the grill.

I always grill my steaks and chicken in foil while still frozen.

Cook until steak is done. Usually about 40 minutes, depending on thickness and cut of steak.

Those onions and squash become translucent, smell so good, and, regardless of how wonderful they taste and smell, look like the dickens.

Serve and then dream of more and more and more and more of those delicious onions. They are caramalized just so and enhance the squash so much. Try it. Guarantee you will love it.
