1/4 cup of butter (salted)

2 cups of heavy cream

1 cup of Parmesan cheese (taste... can increase to 1 1/2 cups to adjust to your liking)

2 garlic cloves chopped thinly

Melt butter over medium heat add the rest of the ingredients bring to a boil then remove from heat.

This recipe is delicious what I make all the time better than most restaurants and you wont be able to buy store bought anymore...

Bushy, I agree! Most folks have only tried new things in restaurants and don't have a clue what really good food tastes like. Another thing that amazes me is how relatively easy and quick it is to cook from scratch but how many folks think it is too much trouble.

Some people never know how good homemade taste.I try to make everything from scratch ,it's better tasting and I can control sodium and sugar .

Whitehawk,, I know you have good knowledge of what it takes to run a chain restaurant and most sauces are mixes instead of fresh made. It's just not like homemade.LOL

These are good.

Olive Garden, Bob Evans, and Applebee's are all a powder mix from Kraft that is beaten into water and brought to a slow simmer until thick. Just like making Pioneer white gravy. Although I've never tried it, I've always wondered if Pioneer white pepper gravy and parmesian cheese with a little butter wouldn't taste as well as the powdered, chain restaurant blends that so many care for.

I love this recipe:

One stick of margarine
one cup of half & half or heavy cream
3/4 C Parmesan Cheese

Stir until slightly thick. I usually add chicken and crumbled bacon.

Does anyone have a really good homemade alfredo sauce? I have searched and searched and tryed the one that says "Better than Olive Garden" and it wasn't that good, did not taste anything like Olive Garden.
