my mom makes the same 4th of july desert every year, and it is simple, and very patriotic. here's what it is: all you need to do, is bake a yellow cake in about a 13x9 pan. after letting the cake cool, get a large package of vanilla pudding, and spread over the top. then get a tub of cool-whip to spread over that. then finish the cake by using blueberries for the blue part of the flag, and sliced strawberries for the red stripes. then you're done! it makes a great refridgerator cake, and it's really really simple.
