Use Never-Seez. It is a mix of white lithium grease and graphite. It works very well on allications where you want lubrication and rust protection. It is used often in the installation of oxygen sensors in cars and trucks due to its electrical conductivity properties.

Oh and if you need to "LUBE" something that is squeaking use plain ole graphite power.....

Depends on the situation and what is being lubed. Vehicle locks should have dry to protect the finish. For long term storage use a wet that dries. But in all applications be sparing; over lubrication creates an environment for dust and debris to stick to mating surfaces and make abrasive damage.
