cedar mulch keeps the bugs away from the house, and it doesn't breakdown like the others.

I'm planning on renting an edger this spring to go around all my flowerbeds. I think the neat, clean edge looks good. My friend cut the little trench with the edger and used some round up and it looks sharp!
I have alot of large creek rocks around several mulch flowerbeds in the yard but the for the ones along my sidewalk and in front of the deck.... want to use an edger.

I wonder if covering the existing gravel with mulch would be a good idea?

You could use yard timbers or rail road stakes if you can find some. I like the retaining wall blocks at Lowes but its expensive.

Just wondering... What's a nice barrier for white gravel? I have azaleas surrounded with white gravel and the black plastic borders and I want to get rid of the plastic.
