Unfortunately, the loss of the "shine" is due to the use of chemicals. Over time, these hardwood products strip the finish right off your floor. The only true way to replace the shine permanently is to have them refinished. I had the same issue a few years back and the only thing I use now to clean my hardwoods is vinegar and water. I certainly don't want to have to refinish them again because of me and my love of pinesol. Good luck!

After the vinegar spray, small areas at a time, spray with Bona or Bruce wax, then use cleaning pad and buffing pad from either Bona or Bruce wood spray.
Don,t use too much vinegar water mixture at a time and get it up quickly or your floors will be damaged. Ours have been down 8 years+ and even in the kitchen still look like new.

Gilmore We use White Vinegar and Water mixture to maintain the gloss on our Hardwood floors.

I have prefinished wood floors and they have lost their shine. Does anybody know anything that I could use to help bring it back?
