The pipe is right under the kitchen. And, yes, it's north side.

We put a big bucket in the kitchen sink and let both hot and cold water drip steady into it at night. then just dump the water in the washing machine. We also leave the cabinet doors under the sink open so warm air from the heat vents gets in. go and get some pipe covers at LOWES, they are cheap and well worth it. I went overboard a few years a go and covered every single pipe in the basement. And if you can find where its frozen at warm it up with a hair dryer on lowest setting so the pipe dont break open.

I have a rental house that would do this if the wind blew hard .... I found the draft and never had a problem again.

I'm guessing foggymorning that either your kitchen is on the north end of the house or the clothes drier vent is allowing cold air in that wall or both.

| Same here. We left water stream on iin the kitchen last night. Everything frozen this morning. Unless you have like a high power shop heater to run under the house, you'll wait it out. If you have access to a creek, collect several jugs or large buckets full so you can flush the toilet. You know you can pour water directly into the toilet bowl to flush it, but you gotta pour about a half gallon from a bucket in order to provide enough pressure for the flush. You're gonna need some drinkng water for cooking and such. Good luck!
| Its works better if you take the lid off the tank and pour it in the tank then flush as normal

That was for White American. So you have NO water running on the HOT side? Nothing running, right?

Outside spigots need to have a frost cap over them when it gets this cold and even small openings in exterior walls need to be patched. The heat from an incandescent light bulb placed far away from anything flammable can be enough to keep the pipes from freezing.

No that is not what I was saying. There is no water period coming out of the hot water side. The only water that is coming out is on the cold side. Thanks
