If it's a new garden just be patient. Both spring and fall are good times for planting things

It depends on the type of bulb. If you're planting tulips and daffodils they need to be planted in the fall. If you are planting dahlias, they need to be planted in the spring after the last frost--usually late April to mid May here in Wilkes County.

Bulbs MUST have really cold on them to do what they are supposed to do. They love the winter, and freezing cold. That's the reason for Fall planting.

In fact, if you buy bulbs that have never gone though the cold process, they advise you put them in your freezer for a few weeks.

Now...but you should set bulbs in the fall of the year....this will a sure more blooms.
