well your lookin at 28 Sq. If you use 3-tab shingles you'll buy 3 bundles per Sq so 28x3 would be the materials cost. Lowes hardware has a price per bundle, around $25.00 per bundle. Dimensional shingle are 4 bundles to a Sq. and they are thicker, check with lowes on the price. Sometimes a local roofer can get a discount price through the company they order from. Now prices vary when it comes to putting the roof on. Check to see if they carry insurance or not. The "not's" tend to have a better rate. Also, there's "extra's" like ridge cap, drip edge, flashing for a chimney or a wall, nails, underlayment. I would also recommend tearing off the old roof down to the sub-roof. This saves in cost in the long run (you'll be replacing the shingles in 15+/- years and it's not good to have layered shingles). So this adds to the cost as well.

I would suggest call: Harvey Dowell, Steve Dowell, Campbells Roofing. In other words people that do this for or as a business. Don't go to a dentist when you need a mechanic. Slade2 gave good advise.

Call a roofing contractor. It's difficult to give you an estimate without seeing the roof and its current condition. There may be more entailed than just adding shingles.
