YES YOU MUST PULL ALL STAPLES ,NAILS ECT. You may also want to insure that the floor is level.If not it will create gaps that over time will grow larger until they become issues you will not be able to fix easily . Yes the white trim is perfect since red and cyan make white or to make cyan remove red from white. The full spectrum bedroom is the theme.

The complimentary color of Cyan is Red. I'm thinking a deep red.

I think it is a beautiful color. I had a very similar shade and white trim in my old bedroom with an aubergine quilted comforter. We had oak parquet flooring, it wasn't my favorite but it still ooked beautiful all together.

Zombie, no offense intended to shea, or you, but that is a weird looking paint color, plus, I'd look for some other color than white for the trim.
