it dont really matter,just be sure to get them down or they will poke through the paper when you put it down

We pulled all our staples. (That was actually my job) when we ripped up our carpet.

pulling up carpet and putting down hardwood in the bedroom, the cushion under the carpet has a butt load of staples in it.

Should I pull up all the staples or just hammer the higher up ones down?
