That black means that there's mold in the wood. You can try to save it, but it's a lot of work, and will probably be cheaper to replace.

To try to fix it, run a dehumidifier for a few days to make sure that the wood is completely dry. Then, tape off the area that needs to be fixed. Working just up to the edges of your tape, remove the wax and finish using steel wool and sandpaper. Mix oxalic acid crystals in hot water and brush the mixture onto the stained area. Let it dry, brush it off, and repeat this process until the stain is removed.

When you're done, re-stain the area to match the rest of the floor, and finish with sealant.

We have some wood parquet flooring that is light oak. It has gotten wet in few areas and the edges turned black from the dampness. The water damage was from refrigerator tearing up and leaking water. Is there any way to remove the black or are we stuck with it. We can't afford to replace the flooring at this point.
