I've seen people do it before and I think it looks quite nice. Better than flat, boring sheet rock. Bleh...

The other half is trying to say that the paneling will bubble up and/or wrinkle with the weight of the paint.

Yes, I have and it turned out nice. Be sure to prime before painting.

Yes, but you will have to seal it with something like Kilz Primer before you paint.

Has anyone painted over cheap, fake wood paneling with good results? The paneling looks like this.
