Push the mower up a big hill and coast it back down and see if it will jump start. Use 2 nd or 3 rd gear make sure switch is on.

Oh yeah, be sure to check your grease fittings, especially the spindle bearings. I have a J D LX280 and I don't use anything from the JD dealership. My battery cost about sixty bucks at Nathan's in Wilkesboro.

No more grass than Zombie has could be cut with a weed eater.

If it was already desd during those real cold days the case is split and one or more cells are dry. Now call Advance and see what a new battery for JD us gonna cost.

Don't want to sound like a Know it all, but a lot of things need to be looked at before mowing season starts.Oil change, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, tire air pressure, deck adjustment and blade condition. If the mower is in good condition, you can probably skip the fuel filter and deck adjustment. And yeah, check to make sure the battery is charged!!

Yes it should be chaged at no higher than around 1.6 amps for 2 days and it will be fine.

I almost had it turned over and realized I didn't have the choke on......

I reckon the winter cold drained it.

I believe it's chargeable.

I would say stop at Walmart or Advance and get you a $20 battery but that high dollar mower only takes a high dollar battery.

Dude, my backyard is fenced in and a car won't go through the gate. I could take the battery out of my truck but I think I'll just borrow a battery charger from my dad

I have the 4 wheelers parked somewhere on the trailer.

Pull the car close to it and jump it off. If you don't have jumper cables cut the ends off a guitar cord and use it leave it for 30 minutes and then disconnect before you start it. Connect both leads real good to the mower battery first then the positive to the car battery and last the negative somewhere yo a ground on the car away from the battery.

Well the farking thing wouldn't start... I was gonna get it done! Just turned over and I don't have a battery charger.

I've ran a 18 hp briggs mower over 100 hrs. a year for 25 years on mainly Castrol 10W-30 and it didn't even use an oil filter. I would say that so long as you didn't mow in sand without the air filter and changed the oil regularly most mower motors would run just as long without an oil filter.

OP you can use any brand oil you want but you need to make sure that it has the correct API rating such as SE, SI, SM,SH,ETC. Your owners manual or engine label should tell you which rating and weight oil to use for what conditions. As far as oil filter goes I used one of three brands either the factory filter or one by WIX or the Napa gold filters which are made by Wix

Who wants to come over and change my oil & filter? Don't have any money but I'll watch you like a hawk.

Just because the filter media is all made at the same place doesn't mean it's the same media in all filters. Manufacturers regularly produce parts for different companies, to different standards for each company. Samsung and Vizio both often buy parts from the same chip manufacturers. It doesn't mean their final products are the same quality.
