I think I will try that the first go around, DaddyP. That will keep me from getting discouraged, then I can try growing them from seeds, for the excitement.

I am a little addicted to Pinterest. Glitter, I do what Fins said and get the plants already established. Walmart has them near their fruits for about $2.00. They have basil and several other herbs. I am horrible at keeping them alive because my kitchen window doesn't get good sun, but I usually get a lot of use out of them before they die. I learned from... ahem...Pinterest that you can freeze them in ice cubes to use for later.

It might be, but if it is, the devil has put together some great pictures and ideas for indoor herb gardens.

My only suggestion is that you will need a grow light. Then I looked on Pintererest and WOW!

I am challenged enough throughout the workday, goddess. Plus, I get my satisfaction in other arenas...

awe come on glit...start them from seed...it's much more satisfying. Purchasing already established plants...well, just isn't very challenging!

I would prefer the herbs eatablished. I haven't thought of that. Yeah, that's what I want.

I wanna "pin" Fins, as well. Thank you.

There are several different versions of indoor herb garden kits available. I've seen one in lowes before, but don't know if they would have it this time of year. Google indoor herb garden kit and you'll find several options.

Another option, some Lowes Food stores now sell live herbs in 2" pots and instructions on how to water and harvest them so they will keep growing.

I'm just playing, goddess. I would "pin" you if I could. You have good suggestions. I wouldn't have thought of them getting too chilled until they already were. Thanks.

U can use a plant light too...and leave it on all the time...that's what I do!

I don'tt know what you live in glit, but even the best windows don't always hold in the warmth needed to grow indoor plants and some folks turn off their heat completely during the day if they're not at home.

I get lots of good light, throughout the day, kenc. I get the evening sun in my kitchen window, so not sure if that's enough hours of light.

Great idea ~glitter ! I don't have a decent window sill to grow anything.

I don't know them either...but they got some good ideas though!

you can do lots of things...you can even grow without soil...and in just about any container.

Main thing is controlling the temperature in the window...even on the days that its dark and froze up outside!

Delicate herbs can freeze sitting in a window.
