 It's either snake hole OR A sinkwhole is performing if it is i that i would get sinkwhole insurance or it is just whole the wholes ar so the soil can get air

Yes, snakes do make holes. They're big worms, so they know how to burrow into the ground.

If they are small round holes and look like a tornado shape..well these are made by skunks ...yes..skunks...they have long claws...they are digging for earth worms and bugs...they come at night because they are nocturnals....they dig in you yard, flower bed and anywheres else they choose..sometime I throw out mothball to deter them !
Little boogers love to cause damage !

Snakes don't make holes. Nothing to dig with. They just use available holes sometimes.
Now, rats....another matter.

Can you tell if the holes are deep or about 4" deep?Skunks make holes in the yard about 4" deep looking for grubs.A mole will have a visible tunnel most of the time.A vole wll have a pile of dirt in the yard at the hole and they will eat the roots off your plants and they just fall over.

The moles I have just make 'tunnels' and tear up the grass, not clean holes. I'm not sure what voles do.
It could be chipmunk or snake holes. I know from back in Illinois that chipmunks have holes about that size, and I've seen them here, cute little things.

I would guess that Skunks are digging for the grubs. They leave a little hole about the size you mentioned. Spray for the grubs and you should have no problem.

Treat yard/lawn for grubs. No food source, no moles or voles.... not that it makes any difference since you get rid of the problem the same way.

Outdoor cats and some breeds of dogs work very well. I found everything else is a waste of money.

I have noticed around our house we have a BUNCH of holes in the yard. How can you tell what is making them, moles or voles and what can you do for them?
