Most apartments will let you but asking never hurts also if you get setup for an install make sure you have a written and signed landlord permission letter some of they guys I work with won't do the install without it. which apartments are you in chances are I have dont an install or two there.

@ Dusty - The flat cables is what I was hoping for. I called to talk to someone about it and all they wanted was to set up an account. I want to make sure that your first option is doable before I sign up. Do I just need to ask my landlord if running the flat cables are allowed?

Don't believe these previous misguided supposed "former Direct TV" experts. Your problem is insurmountable. Go to the library..

I work for DirecTv usually in cases like that we have flat cables that allow you to use windows openings to run cables through while.e allowing window to fully close and lock.
Sometimes when you don't have that luxury we run cables around baseboards or ceilings depending on what apartments will let you do. For a neater look cables can be fished under carpet it takes a little longer but looks a **** of a lot better.
A lot of it depends on what apartment complex it is cause they all have there own crazy rules.
Hope that helps.

Use your laptop to a wireless modem, dish has some kind of sling thing you can transfer the service to your laptop. Not sure of the costs but you can research it at dish.

Okay guys. I have a huge problem. I'm moving into a new apartment with a friend this month. The apartment has 2 bedrooms. There are no coaxial outlets in the bedrooms. There is only one in the living room. We want cable/satellite (we haven't chose which one yet) in the living room along with the bedrooms. How will that work? We would like to have separate cable boxes for each room. The landlord doesn't allow drilling or making coaxial outlets. What will be the best way to go about this? Thanks!
