prune it down and put some CLEAR plastic over it and cover it with multch it wont get air and it will get very hot. you dont have to cover it with mulch if you dont care how it looks.

If you are talking about a Privet or a Ligustrum then you can do 3 things to get rid of it. One: Cut all the way to the ground and loosen soil around the roots. Pour rock salt on this and then pour kerosene over this. Leave it and watch for more roots to sprout over time. continue same treatment until it or you are dead.

Two: really soak the plant with Round-up in its growing season. Usually, this is best when new leaves sprout in the spring but before it blooms. Cut down shrub after it has died--several weeks. Treat each new sprout with Round-up until the hedge dies or you are dead.

Third: You can build over it after it is cut down completely. This doesn't guarantee the roots won't travel under ground for great distances and sprout again. This usually works only after you have either moved or died.

How do you kill a Hedge Bush out? Has small roots growing in several different places and looking for ways to kill it out.
