I would check the customer reviews and consumer reports and then you will know. My husbands uncle has an Eden Pure and has for a few years and LOVES it!!!! I also have some other family members that them and they love them also. We had a family member get a knock off version and their power bill was a bit more costly than the ones with the Eden Pure and they have about the same size homes.

A friend of mine who works at Lowes suggested the Dura-Flame Infrared heater 199.00 vs Eden Pure which is 398.00. She said they work equally as well and use the same amt. of energy. Has anyone else tried this brand?

I purchased an Eden Pure Heater year before last! Love it! Used it sort of as a backup heat to a oil furnace. However, last year, when I called to have oil brought, I would have to purchase 200 gallons of fuel oil before I could even get fuel oil delivered - it would have cost me over $700.00 & would have lasted approximately 1 to 2 months; therefore, I just used my Eden Pure Heater, which heats evenly from floor to ceiling up to 1,000 sq ft of safe healthy heat! I also used a electric fireplace in my living room! This completely heated my approximately 1600 sq foot home the entire winter. My power bill went up approximately $50/month! Therefore, I figured it cost me about $200 extra to heat my home for the winter, opposed to the over $1400.00 I would have had to pay in fuel oil. I also believe the additional $50/mo in the electricity would be from the electric fireplace & not the Eden Pure Heater, as it only uses about the same amount of electricity as a coffee pot.

We have an SUN-TWIN infrared heater that we purchased at Church's Hardware 3 years ago. We love it. It was basically ALL we used to heat our 1200 sq ft home last winter & the power bill was not that bad. We do have an oil filled radiator type heater to knock the chill off the bathroom but that is how we heated our home. We just couldn't fill a 500 gallon oil barrel to use the furnace. The cost of that was ridiculous!!

When I use electricity to heat with I use the oil filled heaters that look like an old time steam radiator. They are the most efficient and easiest to live with.

Truthseeker911 (view profile) | Posted 3:24 pm, 10/14/2012 | My husband got suckered in to buying one at tractor supply last year. I agree with mtnbiker, it is a waste. We could have bought 6 heaters for the price of this one and it doesn't work any better. I gotta cut him some slack because he was getting it for my mom. She is always cold! |
so they suck? it is a very high priced heater.

mer57 - get one of the sealed oil heaters and be done with it. Probably around $50-60 at Lowes, and will heat up a 300-ish square foot efficiency apartment just fine, without killing your electric bill. At least according to the friend I lent it to for 2 winters, it did.

Go to Lowe's or somewhere and buy a basic heater. Infrared is a fancy term for a regular heater. EdenPure is a TOTAL scam. Google em and then waste a few hundred if if you still feel like it.
