you just missed the switch out blimey the meters would look identical
they have ones with analog read out dials with the radio crap in them and ones with a digital read outs with the radio crap in them they didn't switch them out over night or in a months time they worked years doing it

And yes the filers are being replaced!

All heat pumps replaced in the last two years. Checked out every fall.

Storm windows replaced. Insulation added.

Check your compressor on the outside and if it is running you are getting electricity to it. If the fan don't ever cut on after the compressor runs awhile the fan is either wore out or like someone said you need a capacitor.

No switching here. They have not physically read our power meters in over a decade.

There has been no change to the meters.

They seem to just come up with a figure they like.

"ANALOG power meters"... no homes should have an "analog power meter" any more
they have been switched out for one that transmits a reading via radio signal.
that's why the meter reader no longer stops at each houseand physically reads the meter they just drive by
( if they dont get a signal a tech checks the meter if it bad they replace it)

Duke's equal payment plan helps during really cold or really hot days. It spreads your payments out through the whole year based on past usage. Everyone should look into it. I currently pay $155 a month versus a $300-400 bill during the extreme months.

Oh, Bite...let us not even discuss that.

I still do not understand how the power bill guy can stand in the middle of the road, with his monitor aimed at the ground and read, DIGITALLY, ANALOG power meters.

And don't faint when you get your next electric bill!

I, too have had sensor problems But, in my experience, heat pumps can simply not handle such cold weather.

the outside part doesn't work/wont run at all below that certain outside temp.
once it gets so cold their is no point or need for the outside part to run.
it switches over from a heat pump to an electric heater and only the blower and heating coils inside the house work .you are working on backup/emergency electric heat only

I was worried when I first saw my heat pump blowing out steam. Then I found out when the unit 'ices up' (it's sort of a reverse air conditioner), it will go into the defrost cycle.

could be a bad fan motor capacitor. they are like 12 bucks. just be sure you cut main breaker off outside if you decide to work on it, and test to be sure it is off. capacitors can shock you without being hooked up so be careful there too.
