sounds like to me might want to do intervals of wetting different times of the day but when weather cools down don't want to over water when you want to put anything like this do early spring with the extreme heat we have been having don't cut it to short so when it does start coming back green don't cut it back short because it will go back brown again

Getting a soil test would be the first step to ensure you satisfy the needs of your soil. Then adjust ph levels through lime. Pac Mans Landscapes and Waterscapes.

Thanks so much for being so informative. Wow, I learned a lot! I have an irrigation system so the lawn is watered regularly. Also, I'm not in Wilkes County so the climate there isn't an issue. I'll get the lime and take it from there. Thank you again!!!

get a consultant to come in and do all the test. I use Piedmont Enviro-Tech and I have a beautiful lawn 957-2431. They are a consultation company that work with farmers and home owners

Exactly, Lime = green lawn. What it does is raises the PH of your soil I do believe.

For sod to do well in this area it needs consistent watering. For a cost effective way of greening up your yard go with powdered or granular lime. 40 lbs. per 1000 sq. feet. Also it may benefit you to put a nitrogen heavy fertilizer down also. Nitrogen is the first number on a bag of fertilizer and the higher the number the better the nitrogen content. If that doesn't help you may have to reseed or overseed your lawn. your biggest concern there will be that you will never be able to get the same kind of grass seed as the sod. But eventually it will blend. Weed and feed contains 2-4-d herbicide and can shock grass if put on heavy. IF your grass does come back and greens up and you want to control the clover and other weeds use a product like Preen or other broad leaf control. Do not ad more fertilizer or you will either burn your yard or be mowing 2-3 times a week. If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

What would you lawn gurus recommend for greening my lawn? I have sod, have applied Scott's Weed and Feed and the crappy stuff has now died. What is the best product to use for a greener, healthier lawn?
