If the installer does not purge the line and say its your receiver drier will go bad in a couple of years

Digging a little deeper, all the major brand heat pumps have very negative ratings. Even Trane and top of the line American Standard.

I owned a house once with two Goodman heat pumps and they never gave any trouble. But their ratings do suck.

Central air even worse.

I had a nightmare experience with one. I just may have had a dud. Someone had to come every year for about 4 years after we installed it to fix something. Parts were under warranty, labor was not. I gave up and bought a new unit (NOT A GOODMAN, LOL).

I have had Goodman for many year. So far, good service. As was stated, any of them can give you problems.

My husband installs them all the time. All brands get bad reviews. He likes goodman because of the warranties it comes with.

Goodman was great for many years, but went through a spell of having poor parts and even worse warranty service. Several supply chains quit dealing with them for that reason. As of the current products and warranty service im not sure, I got out of that kind of work a couple of years ago.

You usually here good things about the Trane brand. My parents had a new Trane system installed the year after I got my Goodman. They have already had to have the fan motor on the outside unit replaced twice. I guess you can get a bad part in any brand.

We had a Goodman installed about 4 years ago. So far no problems. Heating and cooling both are a lot cheaper than my old heat pump. I was a little hesitant about a Goodman because I hadn't heard much about them. Then I got to seeing that just about all heat pumps get some bad reviews. I don't think I went wrong with the Goodman though. Mine came with a full 1 year warranty, a 10 year parts warranty, and a lifetime compressor warranty. Good luck.

It's hard to stop a Trane.

Hey, has anyone had good service with the goodman heat pump. I keep reading that they are a piece of junk. The reviews are terrible, but most say if it is install right, it should work find. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
