Did you use white vinegar or cider vinegar to wash them? White vinegar soak with salt added should take the odor out and leave the dark color in. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum and if I don't get any replies I may try the main one, but I wanted to see if anyone has any tips. I have a pair of dark wash jeans that are about a year old. They still look brand new and are good jeans so I don't want to get rid of them. The problem is that they very noticeable odor. They smell almost like oil and I have been told they have a similar odor to hemp items. When I wear them I can smell them and I know other people can smell them because those comfortable enough to be honest have told me when I asked. A couple of them have said they have had pants smell similar. I Googled it and it does seem that it is a problem that people have with dark wash jeans. I have washed these jeans numerous times over the past year. Today I followed some of the advice on Google and washed them with vinegar and even put fabric softener sheets in the rinse water. They still have the odor. Any other suggestions on how to get this odor out?
