Froze up Heat Pump, What would cause this?

Better call a service company. The same thing happened to ours several years ago. It was the sensor but my husband thought he could fix it. We had to replace the entire outside unit.

MIne done that couple months ago. It was the defrost sensor. Cost me 100.00 for labor an replacement.

could be low on freon or have a bad defrost board or defrost senser.

I suggest to call B& R or Associated Heating and AC..hubby stated that on older units you can replace the valve ..don't know how old yours is. But should work under the same principle ..the valve reverses the freon from cooling to heat... Hope this helps !

What would cause your heat pump to freeze up? Does anyone know, the freon is good and we replace some kind of board, why would this still be freezing up? Thanks
