I'd be scared to let just anyone cut them if they are close to buildings. If someone cuts them without knowing what they are doing they could land in such a way that damages your property. if the ones doing the cutting lack the proper insurance you'll be SOL if that happens. I know you are trying to help others while helping yourself but do take care.
