Depends on what you are fertilizing? Grass 16-4-8 in spring to stimulate new grass and root growth. Go to wilkes farm and garden and ask what everyone else is using...Just a tad bit early to apply now...i usually apply in march, and also add crabgrass preventer... This year will not as i already have the weeds. Wierd year, too hot of a winter.

Soil sample kits are free at the Cooperative Extension Service office in WILKESBORO.

Joseph is right, you might not need to fertilize at all, and if you do then your soil quality will change what type of fertilizer you need.

You used to be able to get a test kit at Tractor Supply for about $5. If they don't sell it anymore, you can probably call the county's co-op and have it tested. Here's the co-op's info:

what months for spring. summer. fall.and what numbers do u use for spring summer fall example 20 0 8 or 12 12 12 or 30 0 12
