Choose a Thunder Gray, Williamsburg Slate Blue, or Williamsburg red (a dark, muted red). I've seen many homes done in these combinations and thought they looked great.

Deep blue sounds like it would be good...but what is your preference?....Red is a good color too...Taterbug and Justthat and I think it would be great..remember if its does not look good it is possible to repaint....good luck,,,,

Yes...doors painted black voids the warranty. The black absorbs heat! Makes doors warp and split. If the door is behind a storm door with glass, it's even worse. And almost everyone has a glass storm door over their door today. That's a double whammy. Heat and black paint will kill a door.

door needs to be white....sometimes if a doors styrene grille is painted black it will void the warranty. The black paint coupled with a clear glass storm door will build up heat and damage the plastic grille.

Nana, I have never heard that painting a door black voids a warranty. Is this accurate???

Yeah, kinda like the blood on the doorpost. But I think that only works if Charlton Heston is your leader and you're running away from Yul Brenner.

FYI - painting your door red protects you from the angel of death. Or so they say.

This is sounds crazy, but I saw a picture of a door that was a reddish-orange on a gray house and it looks fantastic. I am not quite sure how I would sell my husband on an orange door.

I would say apple red or wine red, but I saw on HGTV they painted a door bright turquoise blue with a gray house. It looked good. But don't use black! Black voids the warranty on any company's door....

I'm not a decorator, but I would think you want to stay with one of the existing colors, or complementary shades. I think anything much different would 'clash' with them. Possibly a different shade of Grey would go well.

I am trying to decide what color to paint my front door. My house is gray, with white and black trim. I am looking to through some color into the situation. I have an idea, but was hoping for some good suggestions.
