It is best to use stainless deck screws, galvanized deck screws or coated deck screws. All 3 of these do not cause rust stains, and will not work their way out like nails do.

yes screws are best but use the real decking screws and the ones that wont rust . ata lowes the box of decking screws useualy come with a bit also.

We are replacing nails with screws. The nails pulled out.

screws cost more, but you get what you pay for. They will hold better and keep the deck from warping if you are using treated lumber..

You're welcome. I thought about answering your question with screws but as you read you have to use the correct ones depending on the decking boards.
