If so maybe your homeowners insurance will pay for it. If you are renting the place I think( check before you quote me on it) that the landlord is legally obligated to go it ,or it's grounds to legally break your lease and move with no reprocussions(sp?)

Is it from water damage?

Yes it's dangerous , it can cause serious respiratory problems! If its limited to one area ,maybe you can cut out and replace the affected section of wall before it spreads throughout the whole place . I don't have any idea what the cost would be ,but If that isn't financially within your budget, maybe try BROC weatherization program or , there is a program that comes to Wilkes every year. It's called Carolina cross connection. On the go wilkes home page it was advertised about a week ago. You can get the number and see if they can help you. (I don't know what all types of work they can do,but it can't hurt to ask). I hope you can get it fixed soon.

It is very dangerous. Is it a large-scale problem or just in a small area? It should typically be treated by a professional. If that is not financially feasible, I would suggest getting a mask and clean it with clorox and then painting over it.

I have a problem with black mold in a mobile home. What can you do about it? What are the health risks?
