We will be selling CSA's for the 2013 gardening season. We will start taking orders on January 1st and take them through the end of February or until sold out. There will be 15 Full CSA shares available (or a combination of full and half shares totaling 15 full shares). For the order form please visit our facebook page or send me a message and I will gladly attach one to a message on here. Link to facebook page: https://www.facebook...ingsFarmNC
A share in the harvest of Bear Springs Farm is a box (at least a half bushel or 4 gallons) of the absolute freshest, quality, fruits and vegetables delivered each week to various locations (yet to be determined) in Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes Counties or for pick up here at the farm. Full shares cost $500 and are delivered for 20 weeks starting late April or early May. That's about $25 worth of fresh fruits and vegetables for 20 weeks! If you can't use that much food you are welcome to find someone and split it with or we would offer half shares for $275 (half shares would be packed in smaller boxes of at least a peck or 2 gallons - of produce per week unless you prefer to pick up a full share box every other week.)
Your weekly share of the farm's produce will contain a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables grown on our farm using the most sustainable growing practices possible. An example of a mid to late July full share might be:
• 2 pounds tomatoes • 1 pint blueberries • 8 ears sweet corn • 2 pounds potatoes • 1 pound onions • 1 pint okra • 1 pound green beans • 1 pound cucumbers
and other produce will be cycled in and out as the season progresses - such as squash, eggplant, leafy greens, beets, turnips, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkins, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, cherries, rhubarb, raddishes etc.
Each box will also consist of a newsletter from our farm - letting you know of upcoming produce and including some of our favorite recipes.
