Anyone suggest a good color for my living room?

You could be right about the olive, I think my first Dodge truck was forest green, sometimes I get confused.

From that picture I would say the carpet looks more olive. A rust colored accent wall might be nice, the rest of the walls could be a warm putty/tan.

Hey OC if you paint use only Sherwin Williams paint. That cheap local brand will not hold up.

I'll keep that in mind. Same go for Sherwin Williams exterior paint?

Except the TV is now mounted to wall where you see the paining above it. (it really made my living room larger)

And the sectional we have now is charcoal.

Carpet sux and so does painting. Install vinyl from ceiling to floor and kill 3 birds with one stone.

I have an aversion to carpet very similar to Joan Crawfords aversion of wire hangers! Haha

If I ever get to build another house, I would choose acid etched concrete. They can be warm with the radiant heat mats, the design choices are limitless, and they are impervious to scratches. Maybe someday!

Initially when I bought the home it had laminate flooring. Our dogs (only had 2 then) left scratches all over it so I have new carpet installed. in the livingroom/hallway and tile in the kitchen.

I REALLY wanted hardwood flooring but I was afraid it'd get scratched up as well so I decided to go with carpet, I know, bad Idea.

Carpet is just.... Icky to me and I'll never buy it again. The plus side of the carpet I bought is supposed to have teflon mixed into its fibers so it's stain resistant. It costed a little more but I felt it was the right decision at the time.

Still may get hardwood flooring in the future, it's have to be an almost scratch resistant wood though. I have pondered the notion many times and regret ever having carpet installed.

I was thinking the same thing, Truth! Rip up that carpet, OC!

Are you committed to keeping the forest green carpet? Have you checked to see if there is wood flooring under it?

If you could remove that large expanse of color, it would open up your choices greatly!

There is a site called Houzz. They have an App for iPad. It is great for looking up anything about home decor and finding inspiration. Just ignore TnT, she's a royal beech!
