As I remember, and I do always remember, a poster suggested you take a color from your fabrics in the room, and use that on your walls. That is still the way to go, if you are really serious about repainting this time. I will add this. Use a color that is found in the room in a small amount, like one color from a pillow, or drapes. Don't choose a color that is already prominent in large amounts. That will be overwhelming. The idea is to bring everything together and make it all cohesive together. You can do it, it's not that hard. Just do it. Or you could wait another few years, and ask again. | It did get put on the back burner, shame me, I deserve it.
I'm really gonna do it this time.

paint is cheaper than new floors, furniture, or carpeting. try to draw from the colors you already have.

Not white too hard to keep clean, especially if you are a smoker.

soft beige is a good neutral color you can redo furniture with no problem....though the softer color of sage is nice...depends on how it looks to you....if you have carpet take that into consideration of you have light wood floors those colors will look great as well..good luck making a decision....

Our living room color is Lowes Valspar "Epic". It is a very soft green, much softer than a sage. It is the perfect shade to blend with our other colors & worked really well for us.

I am partial to Sage green, of late... I have fallen in love with a shade called "Bamboo Shute," made by Valspar. There are so many lovely colors one can pair with it. So many fabrics incorporate that color into the pattern, so it is so versatile! Hope you like whichever shade you choose!

Back in the 70's the local builders always used Moonglow Color paint.
