yeah i love color. my background is in construction/architecture. most of my life was with white walls and ceilings. but i slowly changed and learned how much color impacts space.

here's a pic of a bathroom. i have been working on the entire house and some things have had to just be cosmetic for now.; here is a bathroom in the house. it was sad. the floor was really old vinyl peel and stick tiles. it was so old i really couldn't get it clean anymore. as a quickie measure i decided to paint it. first i primed. then painted the entire thing the same color as the walls. then i added all of the colors i have used in the entire house. the purple was the only unique color. it's cool actually. i sealed it with urethane and it will hold until i do a bathroom renovation.

oh yeah and where you see the television .... well someday that is going to be a library wall and that monstrosity will be built-in. there is an opposing wall i will be doing identical. can't ever have too much storage.

i thought i would share a couple of my renovation pics

first up is the house right after the closing. kind of white everywhere, other than the window pediments. all of those were painted burgundy for some reason. this pic does not show the neglect, smells, and general dirtiness. please meet my dogs katie (right) and elizabeth (left).

this is about 6 months ago. woodstove is installed. all the peel n stick vinyl flooring and carpeting is gone. all ceilings replaced and repainted. wood floors all refinished. see that space just to the left of the chimney???? that is going to be my "office" with a drop down desk. i am actually hoping to get the shelving in it this weekend and come up with a desk plan.

i should point out that is one of the white things sold at lowes or home depot. i did not do anything but paint the relief work that was already there. kind of a paint by numbers type thing. but i do like the results

how about painters? just trying to find some common ground

i love to paint things. i have painted a small bathroom sink once. i like to paint wooden boxes.

here is a pic of a ceiling medallion i painted this past year. i had bought it several years ago because it was on sale. i wasn't really sure when i would use it, but i liked it. finally i got it out to use in the house i am renovating.
