My mom makes a solution with sugar, water and boric acid. You put it in something like a medicine cup and place it along their trail. They drink it and it kills them and most of them will still be in the cup, so no clean up.

They could be wood ants , you may need an exterminator if thats the case.

I get them every year in April on my kitchen counter. I spray outside up next to the foundation and

around the windows with a low-odor pest spray. You can purchase these at Lowes or Walmart.

I use Terro and the ant-bait traps inside. They are usually gone in about a week or so.

Terro for sure. Also, spray Ortho Home Defense inside and out, for maintenance.

Back when I kept my cat inside, I had ants like crazy. Peppermint oil, cinnamon, ground red pepper, ***in, and vinegar will all repel ants. I sprinkled ground red pepper in my windows and doors- I haven't had an ant since.

Does anyone know of any home remedies to get rid of ants? We didnt have a problem with ants last year but I have already started seeing a few here and there mainly in the kitchen. I keep my house clean and there are no sweets or any other food sitting out that could be drawing them in. I really dont want to resort to using chemical sprays or anything because of my small children and my cat.
