Meet the Author - Sonya Gilreath

November 9, 2024, at 12:00pm in the Friends of the Library meeting room. Sonya Gilreath will read from her recently published book, “Healing the Little Girl Within”, and sign copies at the Wilkes County Public Library.
Sonya Gilreath, a Wilkes County native and resident is the eldest daughter of William and the late Sandy Gentry Gilreath. She is the proud mother of a beautiful daughter, Alena. Sonya has served in the healthcare industry for 18 years and is employed by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Cardiology and is a licensed Massage Therapist. Sonya is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a bachelor's in applied sciences majoring in Human Services. She is a member of Grace Kingdom Life Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Brent Bailey. As a survivor of domestic violence, Sonya advocates for women who need to find their voice and purpose in life. Her ministry, “Reset with Sonya”, is an umbrella of hope, biblical teaching and principles, inspiration, and empowerment. She has a weekly broadcast on Facebook where she shares transformative truths and a message to inspire and empower.
Her favorite motto is” Change your mind, then you will change your life.”
Ms. Gilreath recently authored her autobiography book, “Healing the Little Girl Within”. This book journeys the timeline of Sonya’s life beginning in early childhood. She chronicles the reader through a transformative journey of how she converted pain into purpose. The author shares a soulful, yet emotional story as she faced the harsh realities of trauma, abuse, and rejection at an early age. This book captivates her struggles, triumphs, and self-discovery. Her narrative of love, growth, and the power of forgiveness offers a beacon of hope for those struggling to overcome their past trauma. Healing the Little Girl Within is a powerful and touching account of one person’s journey to finding healing and purpose.
