I don't know about a writer. They get less attention than the actors

I had heard a writer for SNL had died. Who was that?

Wow, that's intersting. I'll have to see if I can Find it on demand. I've heard more than one former SNL performer or writer claim that Austin Powers was a parody of SNL, that Mike Myers did to get back at Lorren. And that Dr Evil was a characature of Lorren Michaels. They said that after Austin Powers came out, Michaels didn't let anyone speak of Myers, and he was banned from hosting.

I tried watching SNL tonight. If Lorne Michaels doesn't step things up I don't think SNL will survive another year.
It's F'ing pathetic.

I saw a documentary on Carol Burnette, which said Burnette didn't like them to stray from the script or get "tickled". When they were trying not to laugh, it was genuine. Burnette didn't like it, although it was entertaining when the cast "lost it".
Conway and Korman were awesome.

I heard Tim Conway interviewed on Opie and Anthony, a few months back. He was still quick, and freaking brutal with the punch lines. I always thought he was good, but I didnt realize until that interview just what a genius he is. Jim Norton told how he once met Conway when he (Norton) and Dice were working Vegas and Conway and Feldman were working there too. Norton said, "Unfortunately we couldnt get tickets to see your show though". before Jim barely had the words out of his mouth, Conway fired, "But we could get tickets for yours", implying they were nobodies and couldnt sell out. It was hysterical.

I remember Hans and Franz and the Spartan Cheerleaders.
But nothing can ever top Carol Burnette, Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway.
