Yes, please give us the gist on patient zero. You have me curious now

Patient Zero is the first in a series of "Joe Ledger" novels (with Joe being the main character). In this book, he's introduced to an unknown government agency that goes after big-time terrorists.

The antagonist in this book is someone that has created a type of doomsday virus that turns people in to zombies. Later in the book, though, you find that he has been working on an alternative that is supposed to make him super strong, super fast, and live forever (basically, a zombie with a functioning brain).

By this storyline, this virus is what later causes the entire zombie apocalypse. They're not really zombies in the Romero sense, but are really people that were infected with a virus that produces certain traits after they die (including a slower rate of decay).

Incidentally, Joe Ledger has a role in the Rot & Ruin series, too.

Personally, I liked the Rot & Ruin series better than the Joe Ledger series. Joe Ledger was a little too Jason Statham for my taste, where Rot & Ruin was more believable and had a deeper storyline.

I think that the super nerd with the mullet is blowing smoke up the ***es of the army type people. He probably only interacted with people via world or warcraft and stuff like that. He probably doesnt know anything about the cure for the zombie plague. Hes already inplausible because he couldnt control the gun. Every kid gets a powerful automatic weapon on his 4 th birthday in TX. I just proved hes a shut in.... lol.

I have not read the comics, and I might be off base but what if the "genius" is a video game nerd that is feeding the " army" guy a bunch of crap? He probably never had a friend until the ZA. Unless they were on the other end of a wowc game... I knew the trrminus would be filled with freaks.

what? you confused me dude. and that aint hard to do since im such a dumb arse. lol

Jason I think that Beth is in one of three places. She could be in one of those containers or has already been cooked. Or she may have become a sex slave for sicko that kidnap her I say this because of the guy that was going to do rick son.

And why has no one asked why the crossbow

bolts don't completely go through the rotted
zombie heads?
As much Dead bashing that is going on don't
you think we should throw in basic physics also?

Plot lines might be explained by conversations
occurring between characters not on screen.

Just as in real life people at Walmart talk about
things and you don't hear them on GW. :)

Although bone head moves by main characters
spouting bad lines are just

Have you ever shot anything with a crossbow much less in the head? The bone that makes up a skull is pretty tough I think their about right as far as the arrows go.

Is Patient Zero a novel? Comic?
If it doesn't contain any spoilers as you stated I'll read it

It's a novel, and one that I really enjoyed. I liked it enough to look up other books from Jonathan Maberry, and that's when I came across Rot & Ruin.

Patient Zero is more of an action novel (government agent with incredible fighting skills, leading a team of soldiers that take on the bad guys, all that). But it's a good unofficial prequel to Walking Dead. It doesn't give any spoilers at all; the Rot & Ruin books make vague references to "Sheriff Rick" and "his son Carl", but that's all.

Rick did said "we all spread out, watch for a while, see what we see"

But then they were all hoping the fence?

I wonder how the buried weapon stash will play out? That was the only thing they did that made sense.

This is actually explained in Patient Zero. Seriously

Would you like for me to tell you the gist of Patient Zero? I don't think it gives anything away for Walking Dead, it just gives a little more insight on the backstory.
