There are no 1080p broadcasts because all the networks upgraded their systems to 720 and 1080i first. They aren't reinvesting. Plus, all 1080p content is only 24fps. That's why 720p is actually a better resolution.

I've wondered about that. I recently bought a plasma 3D in 720p and it is as good or better in resolution as the 1080p I already had. I couldn't ask for a better picture.

I've researched the HD 4K's but, I think I'll wait for the prices to drop, as they always do.

However, several networks are interested in 4k channels. Espn dropped their 3D channel to free up bandwidth for a 4k network to launch soon.

That is all good, but can the networks and all the other media outlets be able to broadcast this. I haven't seen any 1080P broadcast, at least that I know of. Those curved TV, look cool, especially with a good flick like "Deep Throat".

If you are looking for a new TV, time to consider one of the new ultra HD 4K TVs. Unlike 3D, this looks like it will be more than a trend.
