The Lost Symbol Dan Brown

I agree goddess. We can thank The Church for the lack of information on MAry Magdalene. They didn't want women getting the idea they were important just because of Mary Magdalene, therefore, they erased all but the briefest mention of her in the Gospels.

I wish we knew more about Mary Magdalene....I thoroughly believe and always have, that there is so much more to her story than what the KJV tells us.

Sorry it took me so long to respond goddess. Yes, I did read Angels and Demons. I love it too. I couldn't remember which one had the most facts. I loved both of them and loved all those true tidbits throughout. I remember at the time looking into the Knight's Templar and Mary Magdalene stuff. I need to read those books again because I have forgotten most of it.

DaddyP, there's not that much condrning the doctrine of the Freemasons in the book.
But, I'm not surprised given the secrecy surrounding the organization.

Daddy P...did you read Angels and Demons...although I loved the Da Vinci Code..Angels and Demons had so much more information in it!!!

I hate to hear this about The Lost Symbol though...was really looking forward to reading it!!!

Does it give a lot based on facts religious and Freemason info? I loved that about The Davinci Code...even moreso than the suspense. I will still probably enjoy it if it does. I have had my copy for awhile, but haven't gotten to it yet.

Like lots of folks I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy of Dan Brown's latest book!

The day finally arrived and I rushed home to lose myself in intrigue and suspense.

About 1/3 of the way through the book I was still expecting to be lost in fictional world of this novel.

Still waiting at the halfway point.

At the final chapters of the book and still no suspense or intrigue in sight.

Finished the book and realized my flight into fantasy was a complete dud.

From my viewpoint I feel Brown was rushed into writing another book to capitalize on the success of The Da Vinci Code.

The story line of this latest offering is an old chestnut of rumors surrounding The Freemason Society. The plot strongly echoes that of The Da Vinci Code suggesting cover-ups, political and ecclesiastical involvement and the obligatory villan.

Bottom line, skip this book and re-read The Da Vinci Code instead.
