This is a wonderful book! I highly recommend it to anyone and I wish they'd make a new movie out of it. This book is about a Chinese peasant and his wife and the many ups and downs of their lives. Pearl S. Buck wrote the book and many, many more. She is an excellent author.

yes, it is one of Pearl Buck's books. I have read a bunch of her books. So Big was my favorite - can't recall the names of the other 3 books by her.

I think it's by Pearl S. Buck? Been awhile since I read it (high school), but I THINK that's who wrote it...

Has anyone ever read "The Good Earth"? I forgot who it's by but it's a really good book about a family in Japan or China one who go from being dirt poor to having all the money they could ask for. It's a good sized book but its really good.
