Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series is wonderful. Have you read those yet?

The Dragons of Pern series by Anne McCaffery is excellent - the library in Wilkes has several. Also Mercedes Lackey has a great series on Champions (spirits in horse form) that helps a kingdom. For a more modern mix - Laurell Hamilton and Christine Feehan. Enjoy.

I am reading C.L. Wilson's fantasy series...the first book is called Lord of the Fading Lands. While it isn't anything unconventional, it is VERY good!!

I just finished RA Salvatore's The Orc King. It's the first in his new Transitions series. The Pirate King was released last month I think. It's a good fantasy series.

Try Stephen King's The Dark Tower Series. It is a blend of fantasy/sci-fi and absolutely riveting. It starts a little slow, but believe me, it doesn't disappoint.
I just finished a series call The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass. It wasn't the best example of high fantasy, but it was very readable and fun.

The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer is great. Also love the Eragon books. Just bought Brsinger, the most recent addition, but my daughter gets to read it first, LOL! I've got a few others, but I can't remember the titles. I'll check it out when I get home and respond again.

I'm just looking for a few suggestions on a good sci-fantasy book/series to read. I've been bouncing around looking for things to read since I finished Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth Series (which I highly recommend to everyone), but I'm just having trouble getting into anything else. I enjoy something with a good mix of adventure, love, and magic, but I am also not above reading kids books. I loved Harry Potter and I also recently started reading the FableHaven series (another excellent series for kids and a quick, fun read for adults!). So any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks everyone
