Happy Camper, I was thinking about buying "A Million Little Pieces" the other day when I was at Barnes and Noble, but decided to wait on it. I had watched the oprah show when they were talking about it. I heard it had the F word in it a lot and you shouldn't read it if you take offense to it. I don't, but I was just wondering. I have heard it was great...but it was at the top of my christmas list so I thought I'd wait till after the Holidays. I'm really hoping to get it.

yeah, right!

I know this book may be a little old now, but has anyone read the Notebook, by Nickolas Sparks? Great book! :D

Another fantastic book is "A Million Little Pieces." It was also one of Oprah's books of the month. It is great. I can say it is probably one of the best I have read in a long time.

I agree, maybe we could set up a time to chat in the chat room about it also

I think we should discuss it here in a forum, that way we can all get much more of an experience from it. It can be a totally differnet viewpoint from another!

I will go with Wicked, also. Like Allie said, just let us know when we should start reading it so we can pick it up. Are we going to discuss what we read on here or do we want to pm one another?

I have decided to change my screen name to this, its just easier....i was Type O

Anyways... my vote is for Wicked....this author sounds great

Thanks Sherrie for taking the time to get this moving.

I hope we choose soon so we can get in the process of getting the books.

I know a few may want to join in but will have to have a little extra time to find the book.

If you folks are on a tight budget, but want to join in on the fun, check your local libraries!

Type O and some others have expressed an interest in having a book club in which we pick a book and all read it at the same time. I would like to do this too. I would like to suggest a few books and if anyone is interested please look up the three books and say which one you would prefer to read first. We will go with the majority pick. I would suggest we start reading the book after the new year starts and take about two weeks to a month to read it. If that is not a good amount of time please make some suggestions. If no one likes the books I suggest please suggest some you would like better.

Ok the first book I suggest is a pick from Oprah's new "classics" book club. It is called The Heart is A Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. I really don't know the story line, but it does sound interesting. Please do a search on it and see if it interests you.

The second book is my favorite. It sounds fun. It is called Wicked by Gregory Maguire. It is a parody of The Wizard of Oz and tells the story of the Wicked Witch before Oz. It supposedly is humorous and even has a little "witch sex" whatever that is. LOL! It is the first in a series of books. I know there is at least one more out that is the second one and it is called "Son of a Witch". So we could read the whole series. Please look it up and see if it interests you.

The third book is one that some may have already read since it is very popular right now. I have had it on a shelf for a while waiting to read it. It is called The Historian. I am not sure who it is by because it is in the basement right now and I am too lazy to walk down there. :? I do know it is about vamipires and is very well liked by many. Please look it up also to see what you think.

Those are the only three I will suggest for now. I don't want to give too many choices because then we may have a harder time agreeing on one. If no one is interested in these three we will go from there and start over. I hope some will be interested in doing this. Even if two or three of us do it it should be fun. Happy reading!
