I think everyone 18 and over should read the beauty trilogy. It was great.

I am really beginning to like it too now. There was finally a little sex last night, but it was weird. LOL! I guess I am just a desperate housewife who needs a little excitement. Has anyone heard from Type O/allie? I haven't seen her around lately. I hope all is well with her.

It does make you feel better as a mom doesn't it !? And I can't help but feel sorry for Elphaba, it's not like while in utero she says, "Hum, I think I'll make my skin green just to spite mom."
My book has some questions in the back too. Did anyone else get the revised edition that has the pictures from the play in it? I would love to see this play!

Yipeee! I made it through the first hundred pages! I am finally interested! I was particularily amused when Elphie's mom wanted to go for a walk around the lake and was making those comments...want to go for a walk around the lake? perhaps you'll drown... I am begining to feel like I finally have a shot at mother of the year!
Seriously, I am liking it much more and the flow is much better. I find some of the the story hard to follow, but I never read the original Oz. Would that make a difference? Also, did you guys see the book club questions in the back of the book?

Cute we are reading a book called Wicked. If you will read through this thread there are a few descriptions and links that will tell you more about the book. Make sure you click on the blue link at bottom of page to read all the messages that have been truncated. Three of us are reading so far and a few others are getting the book. We officially are supposed to be finished with the book by the end of January, but we are playing it by ear to see how many join and when we all finish. We would love to have you join us. Please let us know if you are and when you start the book.

I would love to be in this book club. Could you tell me what book everyone is reading right now please.

Ladies I agree with you. If three of us are reading it then that is plenty. I am like ya'll I will have to finish it anyway because once I start I have to finish. I am liking it too. I love Elphapha. I want her to get together with Boq. Isn't it strange that the "Good Witch" Glinda is really a stuck up snob? Let's stick with this one and hopefully others will join us.

I have Million Little Pieces Too. Maybe we can start it next if everyone agrees.

Jason said he would make a book chat forum, is that what you are talking about? He may just be really busy right now. I thought when you asked about it yesterday that you meant had we started a different thread to discuss the book. I then realized what you meant later on.

It really feels good to be reading a book with people. I don't know why. I guess it is just the sharing.

Sorry, meant to say Wicked is NOT really bad!

I picked up A Million Little Pieces, too! I think it will be a good one. Wicked is really bad. I like it, just not a favorite. I can't stop reading a book once I start it either. I have to finish it. There may not be many of us, but I say we finish this one for now. If nothing else it will help us get together ideas about how we will be doing things with the book club. I've not seen the forum either. Maybe GoWilkes is just very busy right now though. :D

I agree that the wicked witch seems more personable now! If you guys feel it is going to be a stinker and want to dump it and switch just let me know. I will finish it though, I can't start a book and not finish it!
I also picked up a copy of A Million Little Pieces while @ B&N... someone mentioned it and it sounded interesting...

I got mine on Friday and started it. I'm a really fast reader so it doesn't take me long to read these. I'm already to about page 200. Not a bad book overall, but not one of my favorites either. Enough to keep me interested but not so much that I don't want to put the book down. I have to say that it really does make me think of Elphaba as more of a person after starting this book. It's strage to think of the Wicked Witch as a person. If you want to switch books that's fine, although I'll finish this one anyway, just let me know what we want to switch to.

Hey Fuzzy. I was kind of waiting until more said they have the book. So far just you and I have it I think. I sure hope this book turns out to be good. I hate to suggest a flop to people. :? It has great reviews, but maybe it just isn't our cup of tea. Who knows. I am on page 114 and it is about the young witches school years. It is pretty interesting to me with a lot of dry humor, but it isn't a page turner where you can't stand to put the book down. I am liking it, but it is not as thrilling as I thought it would be. If you don't get interested in it in a day or two let me know and if no one else is going to join us, we might just start another one. I will finish this one on my own some other time. Just let me know and we will see if any others are joining.

Hi, guys! I got my copy of Wicked while on vacation this week. I am glad you said that it gets more interesting Sherrie, I am having a hard time getting into it! I will hang in there. Do we have a Book Club chat yet? I couldn't find anything. I think a month sounds reasonable. :D

Hi all! This is the "book lady" as Blueridge likes to call me. I just wanted to touch base and see if anyone had gotten their book yet. I also wanted to see what you recommend on a time to read the book. Is a month long enough? I went ahead and started mine. I must say after a rocky start it has gotten very interesting. I am only a few pages in, but I am liking it. Keep us up to date when you get your book and get started.

Eviltoe, I loved the Davinci Code! Have you read Angels and Demons? It is good too. I am going to read his other book as soon as I can; Digital Fortress.

Hi, just wanted to let you all know about a book exchange club I am in. called bookswappers. Some of you may already know about it, but for the ones who don't know, you join this club for free. You list 9 of your own books to join and then you just request ones you would like to have and another club member who may have your book, will ship it to you. The book you all have chosen to read, Wicked, is listed in there as well. I will post the link and if you would like to join, it's easy and free. http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php
All it will cost you, is if someone request a book you have posted, you just have to pay to ship it to that person.
