Needful Things! The book was great but the movie was horrible. I was so excited when the movie came out, but boy what a dissappointment. Definetly didn't do the book justice.

catwoman : I agree with you, my favorite was The Stand. I liked the story, The Mist, but was really disappointed in the movie ending. they took a good story and ruined it with the murder, suicide attempt part at the end. Like Gone with the Wind I usually read both, The Stand and Gone With the Wind at least once a year. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors but I like Dean R Koontz also.

ALL ARE GREAT, BUT THE STAND IS MY TRUE LOVE. I HAVE READ IT EVERY JULY SINCE IT WAS PUBLISHED. FRANNIE, STU, NICK, TOM, GLENN, RALPH, MOTHER AB. LARRY, HARROLD, NADINE AND MOST OF ALL KOJAK ( BIG STEVE). I FEEL LIKE I HAVE KNOWN THESE "PEOPLE" ALL MY LIFE. THAT IS THE WAY A GREAT BOOK IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU FEEL.

I loved The Stand, but I had to quit reading the Tommyknockers because my teeth kept feeling like they were falling out, so that was a close 2nd.

Correction to add, garfield, that indeed the FIRST of that installment was titled "The Gunslinger".

I cannot say which is my favorite. I have read all of his books and enjoyed every single one. When I start to read his books - I can't stop till I am finished. That is rough sometimes - with the big ones. LOL

I just finished reading a short one called "The Colorado Kid", and a trunk novel that he wrote in the early 70's under the pseudonymn, Richard Bachmann titled "Blaze".

Both were excellent, and it was like returning to an old friend. Hard to say which is his best, so many are really good. I enjoy many of his short story collections as well, such as "Everything's Eventual", "Skeleton Crew", etc.

I've read several King novels. It's all a matter of taste. I didn't care for From A Buick 8 but LOVED Bag of Bones, Cell, The Stand, Dreamcatcher & Duma Key just to name the first in my head as favorites.
