If you enjoy a good clean science fiction thrill that is thought provoking, entertaining and that keeps you reading you should check out a local science fiction writer, Isaac Israel.

He has a series called The Late Earth Chronicles that includes:
The Storm
Valley of the Shadow
Machines of Loving Grace
Thy Kingdom Come

He also has a very readable anthology called Time, Times and Half a Time.

You should read The Road by Cormac Mccarthy and then read every other book he has written starting with Blood Meridian. He is by far the greatest living american author.

Try "Old Mans War" by John Scalzi if you like military sci fi like me! Great book. He has three out right now in the series but the store doesn't leave you hanging if you just read the first one.

i've read left hand of darkness, rama series, enders game series, red mars series, i'm reading a new sci fi one called River of Gods thats nominated for some awards. Does anyone have suggestions about some other good sci-fi? I heard huxley's new world was okay. i also read allen dean fosters "nor crystal tears" does anyone have others of those -i can't find copies no more.
